ann ladson has a long history of working with her hands.
her experience as a pastry chef, audio engineer, floral designer and metal worker have perpetuated a lifelong fascination with the material exploration of art and science.
formally trained at penland craft school, haystack, appalachian center for crafts and arrowmont, ann ladson applies traditional metal working techniques to an intuitive and artful design process. much of what she learned working with flowers, sound and sugar translates to an inherent understanding of composition, form and finish.
ann ladson lives and works in charleston, sc where she was raised. when not working in her studio she is knee-deep in home improvement projects, pruning in the garden or riding a bicycle to meet a fellow maker for afternoon cocktails.
